They wanted as many people as possible to come together under the guiding principles of small government, free trade and personal responsibility. To be a Republican now, there’s only one requirement: complete and total subservience to Donald Trump. The Republican Party exists for one reason and one reason only - to make rich people even richer. That's it. That's how it's been ever since Reagan was elected, and it escalated through the Gingrich years, morphed into the Tea Party, and then the Cult Of Trump.

They are only a Big Tent if you march in lock-step to whatever Trump wants.
