How many times historically has a smaller, motivated force defeated an overwhelming but very unmotivated aggressor? Well, we're adding one more to the list.

The Russians can't take Kyiv. They're bogged down in the south. They're pulling back from Kharkiv in the east. They're asking Kazakhstan for manpower assistance (throw more unmotivated troops with no beef with Ukraine into the mix), but getting turned down flat. They're losing men, machines and aircraft at what's got to be an alarming rate for the Russian general staff. They've advanced only marginally further than they did in the first 24 hours and are actually pulling back in places. Now they're agreeing to talks.

War ain't over by a long shot, but the initial breakers have crashed against the Ukrainian rocks and achieved little. Keep up the good fight!!!!!!!! God, I wish I were young again.

and thinks in terms of winning battles and gaining territory.

What he doesn't seem to realize is that the Ukrainians won't just give up and turn back into a satellite state of Russia. The Russian military is going to win any war they pursue but they're going to lose the peace, badly.

This guy is thinking WWII. He should be thinking Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan. The only difference is that the Ukrainian people are more disciplined and better prepared. They knew this was coming, sooner or later.
