"Methods." I visited the former USSR back in the late '80s with my grandmother's peace group - they had a "sister town" there. This was under Gorbachev and there was such hope in those days since he was instituting more progressive policies - glasnost and perestroika, openness and transparency. And the people we met were dedicated to peace, were terrified of another war. WWII was devastating for the Russian people since it was fought on their own soil and thousands suffered, starved and died. There were statues and plaques all over commemorating those who were lost in that war. And I still remember one older lady who had served as a nurse during WWII who said "Please, when you go back, tell your president that we want peace." Still chokes me p to remember her.

The severity of the sanctions worked like magic, because all these righteous corporations & glibal conglimrrates who have done business & profited with RU for years, are suddenly cutting ties.
Why? Its not cuz they're such bleeding hearts for a war torn country, as that's never stopped them before. ..its because they don't want to risk having everything they own siezed for violating the recent Sanctions.
Bank accts, passports, businesses, homes..etc.
These Sanctions will take everything.
It took the risk of losing their wealth.
At least it worked & Vladimer Putin & his international criminal organization are being squeezed into a much smaller space.
