Stephen Colbert - Monologue and Opening - 2/28/22

Ukraine's Civilians Take Up The Fight Against Russia | Zelensky's Bravery Inspires World

The world has been gripped by the dramatic images of heroism and heartbreak coming out of Ukraine, where things do not appear to be playing out according to Putin's plan and a comedian-turned-president has emerged as a national hero.

Western Powers Cut Russia Off From SWIFT | Putin Is Sounding A Lot Like T****

The world is so united in opposing Russia's invasion of Ukraine that even famously-neutral Switzerland joined the effort to block access to crucial financial systems like SWIFT, and the whiny response from Vladimir Putin sounds a lot like something America's former president would say.

Stephen Colbert To Chris Licht: "I Love You For The Man You Are"

Stephen Colbert wishes a fond farewell to The Late Show's executive producer and showrunner Chris Licht, who is leaving to run CNN, an upstart cable channel soon to be rebranded as "Colbert News Network."

Here's The Official Message From SWIFT To Russia

Featuring a special Wordle just for Putin.

Colbert absolutely keeps up with the news - and somehow still makes us laugh!

After each one.

I so admire him for his touching tribute to Chris Licht. We have come a long way when one man can say to another that he loves him and also why. Not because he’s a man’s man, but because he’is a doting father, among the other touching reasons.

And, as you said, unusual among men and even more so on national television. And yet, he was also able to make that touching moment humorous...

that's why he gets the big bucks. I think he gets $6 million a year as a salary.

After watching these brilliant routines from him last night, I Googled him and found the above figure about his contract. And who really knows, but his net worth is estimated at $75 million.

He lives within a mile or two from me, but I never see him at the grocery store, hahah.
