Logistical failures means the Russian troops are running out of food and fuel.
Ukrainian defenses are keeping the Russians from attaining air superiority, which has forced the Russian troops to work mostly at night.
And Putin apparently did not expect the determined opposition of the Ukrainian forces (or the global response to his invasion). He thought his troops would be greeted as liberators. (Was Dick Cheney advising him?)

(28,903 posts)rotating in to fight Russia on the border since 2014 so literally 600,000 Ukrainians' have some kind of battle experience and training. I think that is a pretty big deal. Over a half million trained men and women, most I am sure willing to fight.
