I did not expect him to come out and say "Yes, Trump was engaged in conspiracy," even though it was clear that he believed that to be the case. If nothing else, that kind of admission could implicate both him and Mike Pence.

Here's where I think Trump may be in trouble. Any leader builds up a team of advisors, and no doubt some of that advice may prove illegal or unworkable. However, it is the responsibility of that leader, whether in business or in government, to select the advisors in the first place, to continue to seek their advice, and to base their actions upon that advice. That's responsibility management 101. Moreover, conspiracy does not mean that Trump himself was the instigator of such actions, only that he was a willful participant. This is why conspiracy is easier to prove - you do not need to show intent, only participation.

And he did come out and say that it was clear early on that TFG/Pence had lost the election (by even more votes than they did the first time - not that that particular subject came up... )
