know they had signed up for - a war against fellow slavs in and former republic in the ex-USSR. Thus the posthumous medals and bribes to families if dead soldiers to keep quiet.

He's cutting off his nose to spite his face.

He offers NOTHING to the Russian people, and is destroying a whole country in a self-defeating tantrum.

He'll always be known for this terrible moment in world history. It matters little how he expresses his beliefs. What he is DOING is committing mass murder.

From traditional morality, a war, in order to be morally justified, must be waged as a defensive action. That's a universal concept.

Putin is waging an immoral war. But he's lying when he defines it otherwise. He's killing tens of thousands of Ukrainians because of his belief that Ukrainians are really Russians? So he's killing off "Russians" because they are Russians? This is sheer lunacy. I don't know why anyone is questioning whether Putin is "not right-mentally", or that he's "irrational" in his conducting of the war. He's killing an entire country because he believes in... WHAT? Why would we care what he believes? His actions speak to the fact that he has no business being the leader of Russia. The only business at hand should be that he is held accountable for war crimes and removed from power. He is the 21st century Face of Evil.

I would wager that's what the standing up like he was finished and then not was all about.

Thanks for the thread ItsjustMe

country or assassination? Even if he wins, Russia loses. They have nothing to gain by bombing Ukraine like they are, as they would have to rebuild it. If they really wanted the country, they'd surely handle it differently.

I keep getting the feeling he is taking out as many with him as he can and to hell with the rest.

and that's when he stepped up his troll farm attacks against the west, annexed Crimea, and invaded Donbass.

2014 was the Maidan revolution in Ukraine, probably why he punished them first. The other thing that happened is that his wife divorced him. While details are nonexistent, one wonders if there was some change in him that provoked it.

My own take is that he is completely in control of Russia but there might be some personal demons controlling him. The latter is pure conjecture. I just know something changed rather drastically around 2014.

if he was wearing an earpiece and was reacting to a message. Which may or may not be indicative of his mental competence, but it perhaps raises the question.

Because he just heard that he lost another chunk of his army. I am sure he wears an earpiece.
