I rarely watch HBO except for the late night political shows, but the other night I happened to run across a biography of Kareem, which also featured comments from him - and it was absolutely fascinating! He's led quite a life - so far...

One of the best ever. He used to kill my Knicks; then he started killing the Celtics. That’s when I warmed up to him. 😉

But you could always tell he was a cut above as a person. I’ve never heard him say a flip or dull thing in my life.

My Dad's other favorite was Bill Russell - as opposed to Wilt Chamberlain - and he got a big kick out of Bill Russell later when he took to commenting on the games...

But I agree that Kareem is one fascinating and admirable figure, way above and beyond the game of basketball, though when it comes to the game, he's likely the best of all time.
