That the Javelin Missile costs more than most of the targets that it hits? But no cost was given.

OK, update, I looked it up: Missile only, 2021, $175,000.

Really????

as that javelin missile kicks ass.

The most “common” current-generation main battle tank in the world is the M1 Abrams. These started at around $4 million, headed up toward $5 million, and currently are at a hefty $7 million. The most common main battle tank, the T-54/55 (considered more of a medium tank, however), costs about $1.06 million a unit (adjusted for inflation).

I have been a peacenik* since 1970 when I went on a hunger strike to protest the war in Vietnam. I quit when I got to 98 pounds. Then I started using my next tactic, writing. I wrote letters, essays, poems, made posters and protested. But thankfully, the war was soon over.

I've never really been interested in war weapons but I am learning a lot and learning is something I love to do. Although, I have spent my life in a career that focuses on healing and helping it's not lost on me the necessity of having weapons for war.

I've also been a techie since the first moment I got my hands on computers and telecommunications devices. I have taught myself how to program, build, deconstruct and connect systems with a variety of uses for a variety of tasks. So the technological sophistication of these war weapons isn't lost on me either.

One more thing, I am now learning about what all the billions maybe really trillions of dollars in our defense budget are being used for. That said, I'd really rather see it go to feeding children and helping their mothers learn trades and gain skills they can use to establish financial independence and build their communities toward a more benevolent end.

But thanks for posting these videos. I am learning a lot. ❤

*Really I believe that I was born as a spirit with no interest in or penchant for aggressive behavior which translated into pacifism and rigorous benevolence as I got older and more educated. I am known by my family, friends and colleagues for my unrelenting patience and loving care. And, I have frequently been at the center of many conflicts, big and small, because others seek out my help with creating solutions and "mending fences."

I agree that it would be a far better world if all the treasure and effort that goes into building them could be directed at social issues rather than destruction.

Right now I am happy they are available and in the hand of the Ukrainian forces who will hopefully use them and everything else at their disposal to push the Russians out of their country.
