(332 posts)Israel has been supplying Russia with drones for years. The Ukrainians even shot one down the other day. Here's the Times of Israel with the article which I have yet to see in an American paper.

(4,347 posts)do everything short of a no fly zone to help Ukraine. That includes every MIG-29 we can get our hands on as well as Patriot systems and any other anti-aircraft systems. And what about howitzers? If I remember correctly, they have a range of about 10 miles. Blow those convoys back to Moscow and Minsk. Then, Ukraine needs to be set-up for an offensive to take back ALL of Ukraine. That includes Crimea and Donbas.
What was it that FDR said at the start of WWII? "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." He knew fear can be paralyzing and blinding to the cause. Stop buying into Putin's fear propaganda. Lift Ukraine up to meet the challenge with victory!!

(111,235 posts)These are people who dug up their own pavement and threw it in order to get rid of their last Russian puppet, Yanukovych.
It's why Russia will be bled dry by any long term war in Ukraine.
As for the Russian military's lack of communication, I'm not surprised, no one at the top has ever really trusted the Russian people or even their own military. That they lied their asses off to get those guys into a shooting war is no surprise, either. The clunkiness of their armament is no surprise, they've always gone for basic stuff that works and doesn't break down easily.
What is a surprise is how little training their air force has been getting. It explains a lot.
The film at the end is harrowing and, if I'm not mistaken, from the first few days of the war. A plane was shot down over Kyiv and either crashed into a high rise apartment building or fired a rocket into it. WION was not forthcoming.
And I'm all for sending them all the toys they need. No, I don't believe in fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here. I believe in giving a small country enough firepower to convince an expansionist big country to stay within its own borders.
And if TFG had gotten a second term and had invaded Mexico to stop the flow of brown people, I'd expect the rest of the world to do exactly the same to us.

(273 posts)it takes months to train on that system. The U.S uses a 90 man team with that system. There is no way Americans are going send military personnel in Ukraine.
