(8,059 posts)will allow themselves to be exposed to conflict, which is possibly what Putin wants--he wants an incident he can use to stoke up home support and prove NATO aggression in a conflict where they shouldn't be combatants. I'm not sure the Croatia crashed drone wasn't an attempt to provoke NATO. Putin needs the dynamics of this war to change--it's like a fire, and NATO would be the oxygen. Best to deny him that gift.
