Lawrence ODonnell says asking, Do you support a no-fly zone? is the wrong question. Asking "Do you support sending American pilots into aerial combat with Russian pilots?" is the right question. Aired on 03/18/2022.

(205,246 posts)I think that his take on the no-fly zone question was the most important segment of the night. Unlike most of the reporters he mentioned, Lawrence has the knowledge and experience.

(28,120 posts)This report was very important for the many folks who did not understand the ultimate results and complications of a no-fly zone.
Too bad the Fuxtrotters & Kochsuckers will not have watched.
Thank you for posting this, Miss Rhiannon.

(205,246 posts)But I agree that Lawrence, who has the experience and the background, explained the ramifications, as you said. Anyone who continues to debate this should watch this first. I think this was the most important news segment of the day.

(487 posts)showed a bunch of ordinary citizens dead in the street. Its becoming too much for me to see! I turned off the news and tried to enjoy the rest of my afternoon. Yesterday they found a bunch of babies under blankets in a hospital. It getting to be more than I can take watching it.
Ok I will back up a bit. We all know that Trump enlisted Russias help in 2016 ("Russia if your listening" Since then its been nothing but a crapton of shit from Putin. He Has Nukes. Does this mean he can do this to other people without reprisal? Apparently it does... I am helpless here! all I can do is be enraged. Can I go to a protest? no.
As a kid I watched the older kids in my neighborhood go to Viet nam and a couple didn't come back so I understand Biden not wanting to get into it with Putin. But on the other hand there has to be something we can do.... Something, Anything

(205,246 posts)What's happening is nothing short of heart wrenching, yet we're watching it live on the news! And we know that until recently these folks were just like us, going to work or school and caring for their families. It's unconscionable and I feel helpless, too. I also keep thinking there must be something - but then it's also essential to avoid a world war which could doom the entire planet. And I remember to be grateful that we have the most experienced president in our history to deal with this - and I feel for him, as well.
