(2,218 posts)2. A bit more data on the Orsk Landing Vessle
From Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alligator-class_landing_ship
Aligator Class Landing Vessle Orsk was heavily damaged or destroyed on March 24, 2022 by a Ukrainian attack on the harbor of Russian-occupied Berdyansk.
Orsk (БДК-69) was launched and commissioned in 1968 as Nikolay Obekov. It served a total of 11 campaigns in Indian and Atlantic oceans and the Mediterranean. Later, under the Russian flag, it carried troops and materials to Yugoslavia, Adjaria and Abkhazia.[6] In 2018 the vessel was seen transporting Russian equipment to Syria.
