Why the Western Drought will not return to "Normal"

I spoke to a half dozen key scientists about the Megadrought in
Southwestern North America.

Key takeaways:

Current period since 2000 is the most intense dry in this region
since 800 CE

As temperature rises, "evaporative demand" - the atmosphere's tendency to
absorb moisture, increases - so even when rainfall levels return to 1980 or 1990
levels, which the record suggests they could - conditions will still be dryer
than they were, just due to temperature driven demand

What is "normal" will keep changing until humans mitigate and
bring down greenhouse gases

We have more ocean water than we know what to do with. Maybe do drainage pipes at ocean running to areas of drought?

in the western US anyway. I have daily rain records from 1950. average has declined an inch from say around 1990, but the number of years that even come close to average are about 1%.«
