The first thing I think of is how confident the soviets were going in, and turned out they were woefully unprepared

Then I think of how it tarnished the world’s opinion of the USSR

In some ways you could compare it to the current Russian attack on Ukraine.

But I think the real take away message is that it’s hard to defeat a country whose population is unwilling to surrender and will largely fight to the death. It’s not just the Fins or the Ukrainians. The Russians can look to there own history, like at Stalingrad. The lessons are all over if you pay attention obviously Putin did not. He’s probably a trump style warrior, no real knowledge just some fantasy view passed on a very limited focus.
