Putin: "You Think About THIS Next Time You Shoot Your Mouth Off In Some Bar, Ukraine..."

There's been a lot of talk about leaving Putin an off ramp to get out of Ukraine while saving (some) face. At this point, the BEST scenario Putin can expect is to win a pyrrhic victory, after a long bloody war of attrition, and then have what's left of the Russian army bogged down, fighting a sustained resistance movement in a hostile country for years, while the Russian economy collapses under sanctions.

If you give him NO 'off ramp,' he may do something rash. So, the question remains, what off-ramp, BOOBY PRIZE would you give him? A formal, signed agreement from Ukraine, renouncing any claims on Crimea; and an agreement to not ask for membership in NATO? In exchange, Russia agrees to remove all military personnel from Ukraine?

An agreement like that would stop the bloodshed for now, and get rid of the Russians. Once they're gone, NATO will arm Ukraine to the teeth, despite them not being a member; and Putin will eventually be removed, quietly, after having wasted half the Russian army for nothing, strengthening NATO, and making Russia look foolish.

That would be the equivalent of the classic pimento olive scene from CHEERS, but it would work.

I'd say once the Russian army is gone, the last thing they'd want to do is come back. Not in the near future, anyway. Putin would be deposed at home before that would happen. That would be my prediction, anyway.

4. Good idea. Maybe Serbia would agree to be the international observers.

Along with a mixture of other U.N. observers.

It will eat at him - his imperialistic dreams - and he will not stop until he's achieved them. He will pull back (in defeat) lie, claim victory and return. He will put everything into the military, maybe even cut the money he and pals are stealing, to build that up to destroy Europe and glorify himself. He plans on drumpf stealing the next election, and he will fund that hugely, so NATO will be destroyed without the support of the US when he attacks it.

his ego has been beaten to a pulp. That makes him more dangerous. This is toxic masculinity taken to the extreme. Think domestic abusers. Putin's psychology is the same, he is just playing out his inadequacy on a much larger stage.

And while others fear the weapons he will use if he loses more in this war, I fear what he will do if he is free to go back into his hole and lick his wounds and nurse his resentments.

I fear the real danger lies in what he will do in the lull after this war. There is no rationality to his actions, so I fear he will avenge himself on many countries with no warning, including the USA, using barbaric methods.

People will accuse me of war mongering, which I am not, but I feel like he needs to be taken out now rather than appeased and allowed to try to prove his manhood again. And before anyone asks me how that is to be done, I don't know. I suppose the best way would be to play along and then turn his allies so they get rid of him.

But we DUers have all read enough posts from men and women who have been victims of domestic abusers to know how they act. Putin's psychology is the same. And we know that the most dangerous time is when the victim tries to leave.
