not clear whether he thought the "people dying" in Ukraine were due to his own compatriots or to Ukrainians themselves.

Only the older woman and the guy in the red coat seemed to have any idea what is happening.

As an ordinary American, I have to say that these people's apathy towards Putin's murderous actions pisses me off.
