(803 posts)I supported Joe Biden in the primary and, of course, in the general, because I thought that after the chaos of TFG's administration, we needed an experienced, honest and authentic person in the Presidency. Joe Biden has met this moment as we are truly at an inflection point in the future of our country. The struggle between Democracy and Autocracy is ongoing and seems to be reaching a crisis point. As Lt. Col. Vindman said, "In this country, right matters." During these times I sometimes think about JRR Tolkien who penned his epic tale of good vs evil, "Lord of the Rings" as war raged in Europe. Evil was overcome by Good, Light triumphed over darkness, and Truth won over lies. Perhaps there is a lesson there.

(10,823 posts)The complainers, the autocracy flirters, those that would boil it down to the last line as a mistake, an off-script moment? President Biden said exactly what the world thinks: this man, this Putin who has killed thousands, maimed children, shattered lives and reduced historic cities to rubble cannot remain in power to continue the senseless carnage.
Be not afraid to say the words: Darkness cannot be allowed to win, anywhere.
Bravo, Mr President. Bravo!
This is the reason I voted for you.
