(51,129 posts)I'm shocked. Should we just close the DoJ? No way, and no one is above the law even though some are able to break it without being convicted.

(1,121 posts)Well, you shouldn't be! With all due respect, you're being absolutely naive if you believe that the justice system considers all possible offenders equally, without bias, and impartially dispenses punitive measures. Wealth, political influence, race, gender, cultural traditions, and social status among other factors have always played a major role in the justice system. And don't be absurd, no one is advocating for the DOJ to be "closed", we just want (actually demand) action be taken to prosecute those responsible for perpetrating the greatest attack on our democratic republic in the history of this country! It's time for the DOJ to display some courage, not timidity and cowardice. The patient is in mortal distress and knowing that you have the ability to possibly save them, but make no attempt to do so is morally and ethically bankrupt.

(21,312 posts)Back when Trump fired FBI Director Comey, Mike Lee, Senator of Utah, suggested a replacement to Comey, any guesses who he suggested? It may just have been because he was a DC circuit judge and it would have opened the spot?
