The Washington Post reports that White House phone logs from the day of the Capitol riot given to the January 6 select committee show a seven-hour gap in former President Trump's calls. NBC's Ali Vitali reports from Capitol Hill.

Then, his handlers had to prepare him for his speech that afternoon thanking all the "lovely people" who stormed the Capitol before they were asked to go home.

"At 6 p.m. Trump tweeted that the riot was something that happens "when a sacred landslide election victory" is "viciously stripped away" from people."
