I guess that is Pukin's strategy now. To make Ukraine unlivable.

(7,394 posts)They've gone full black hole. They're going to lose this fight because the world is too small for this kind of madness anymore and smart enough to stop it before it metastisizes. No planning, no grounded thinking, no talent, no vision, no truth, no love for peace. All who can leave Russia will leave, and those who cannot will circle the black hole for generations as they desperately try -- or they will find a way to rise and murder these weird cultish brute-idiots running the show.
Either way -- something about the way the soldier spoke of returning from working in Poland to fight for their land just nailed me to the wall. Ukraine will survive and prosper, and their national identity has been forged and tested as simple and sound.
Russia is not a single thing; it was made of many people. Now there is only a black hole. Putin has finally put an end to their truth, their hopes for the future, their national identity. There will be Russians everywhere, a diaspora spread across the planet -- but there will likely be no Russia.

(13,895 posts)gives them a Lat/Lon? That would give them accurate coordinates to drop a mortar on them. And yes getting readjustments coordinates in real time from above is priceless.
And I guess a motar shell is less expensive than a switchblade drone
Use the switchblade for "difficult" targets.

(11,097 posts)The drone operator sees where the rounds fall compared to the target. The mortar can then be re-aimed up, down, right, or left.
Yes, mortar rounds are cheap compared to a drone or any weapon it would carry. If a drone operator can see the target within range of the mortar, that would be the better weapon choice.
