Will last for at least a generation. There were mass resignations and few applicants, completely destroying the continuity that both departments depend on from one administration to the next. And those who remained were among the least qualified - and likely didn't survive the new administration. We're lucky to have survived all the damage TFG caused - not just here at home, but across the world with our long time allies - and his support of our adversaries. And we're still seeing that damage right now.
