I remember seeing WWII tats on guys who fought in the Pacific and what they'd turned into 15-20 years later when the guys turned to fat, it put me off tats for life. I think that's one reason they weren't all that popular among old boomers.

And ink has become much better than in the ww2 days.the needles and types of coloring techniques have advanced too. The ink stays put. However pale people like us should use sunblock on tats,we put it on anyways..Also there are types and places you can put tats that weight fluctuations and age wont matter all that much.. Getting a tat has radically changed and there are very skilled tattoo artists now.
