In Hollywood, the week before the awards show is one of the most important seven days of the year for the film industry.

The parties, luncheons and schmoozing fests are must-go events for securing future projects and cementing relationships. Smith won't be welcomed at these get-togethers. His next movies, if he gets to make them, will be scrutinized like never before and his characters will be compared to his real life behavior. Those are not good things for an actor. Ask Mel Gibson.

Smith acted really foolishly. He wasted his years of fostering a good guy image. Now we know he's a selfish, entitled ass. That's going to be hard to reverse.

When he dies, The Slap™ will probably be the lead line in his obituary.
