2. I spent one 24 years driving school buses.

This kind of scenario is what I feared whenever I was stopped on the road to load kids. I am really glad that the bus driver wasn't crossing kids across the road at the time of the incident. It will be interesting if any information comes out about the truck company's records about maintaining their vehicles or the driver's likelihood of doing a proper pre-trip inspection. Before anyone jumps on me about my comments, be aware that I spent about 22 of my 24 years training new drivers, and I also spent many years working as a Third party examiner. I know what is expected of commercial drivers. I am extremely glad that no one was hurt in this terrifying incident, and I do laud the truck driver for taking evasive action to avoid plowing into the school bus.

3. I watched the video a second time.

It sounds like the low air warning alarm has activated in the truck. I wonder if he was paying attention to his gauges while he was driving? There's not much that is more frightening than a heavy commercial vehicle with brake failure!
