In a meeting with other members of the House Republican caucus on Wednesday, Kevin McCarthy defended what he said on the recordings that have been leaked this week, and claimed that the leaks themselves were just attempts to divide the Republican Party. Even if that were the motive, it wouldn't change the fact that McCarthy actually said the things that he said and expressed legitimate concerns about the stability of his own members.
