The media puts far-right brain farts at a par with official or academic statements - and actually more than at par, because they're legitimized (intentionally or not) as "things everyday people" say.

But if someone on the left were to, say, question the official 9/11 story or the $20+ trillion the Fed handed to the banks in '08 - that would never see a second of airtime, no matter how articulately put.
