Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) - Abortion Ruling / Philippines Election

John Oliver discusses the leaked draft opinion that looks set to overturn Roe v. Wade, how we got to this point, and where we may be headed.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) - Philippines Election

John Oliver discusses the current presidential election in The Philippines and why Bongbong Marcos is – albeit in a very limited and unflattering way – sort of like Ant-Man.

John Oliver Torches the Left for Failing to Prevent Alito’s ‘Horror Show’ Roe Draft, Bashes Obama and Clinton as ‘Squeamish’ on the Issue

Oliver specifically called out former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama for being “squeamish in their defense of abortion,” noting that Clinton argued it should be “safe, legal and rare.”

On the bright side Oliver didn't blame Hillary for this one.

Did the points he make not happen? In 50 years, have the Democrats acted to codify Roe when they had the chance? Or is simply ignoring the problem until it blows up and might boost mid term turn out brilliant strategic thinking?

Here's a fun fact. Amy Coney Barrett wouldn't be on the Supreme Court had Ruth Bader Ginsberg retired when Obama was President and had the majority in both houses. That's a critical point and absolutely true. She was asked and refused. Had she retired, we might not be in this position. The SCOTUS might be 5-4, and the Republicans less sure of their position. So is Ruth Bader Ginsberg, defender of women's rights, her entire legacy crumbling before our eyes, faultless because she was RBG, or does she, like Clinton and Obama, deserve some of the blame?
