Spurned on by a lot of social media misinformation. And exaggerated, inflamed rhetoric.
In Canada here, Justin Trudeau will most likely face Pierre Poilievre as the Conservative challenger in two years. An anti-vaxer Trump wannabe who praised the Crybaby Convoy protesters. And I fear he will win. There is a ton of anti-Trudeau smearing going on on FB etc.. Even Elon Musk compared him to Hitler.
I shudder to think of North America's future if both Poilievre and Trump are running it after 2024. They will no doubt conspire with each other to create a greater Gilead.

The sides were never equivalent in any way, not in funding, access to media, access to the halls of power, or anything else. They're not equivalent even in rhetoric. Fiery rhetoric on the left was always about ending oppression. Fiery rhetoric on the right is all about increasing it.
Middle of the road, yellow stripe conservatism is not going to play well if the USSC throws a grenade at half the population of this country, the USSC conservatives who lied to Congress in sworn testimony to get their jobs. We'll see what side you're really on, won't we? Not that I've ever had any doubt.
"Both sides," give me a fucking break.
