one of them is on the board of directors of at least one other company. If I am on the board of directors
of company "X" I am not going to vote against the CEO of company "X" getting a raise when he sits
on the board of directors of company "Y" where I am CEO.

“The Irony of Democracy.” It listed the top ten Fortune 500 companies and the name of each member on the board of directors. I don’t recall the exact number but it was something like 10 members on each board. When I ask people how many people were there so many say 100 but it wasn’t. It was 30 something. That was in 1978. It hasn’t gotten any better.
