Oh, we won the war, so it's not like Ukraine in that way. We also created a power vacuum by destroying the Baath party, who were the only ones organized enough to run the place when we left. That created a power vacuum into which ISIS stepped.

Russia is losing the war, in large part because Ukraine knows that once they are in, they won't leave, they'll have to be thrown out again. Better not to let them in.

The only thing the wars have in common is that they were attacks on sovereign nations that weren't posing a threat. Bush knows he was lied to. It's pretty obvious Putin has been lied to (Nazis? 80 years too late for that, mate), so I'm delighted about his slip of the tongue. That bad decision defines his whole presidency. I'm glad he realizes it.
