One Russian's anti-war protest on side of his shopping centre - BBC News

A Russian man has turned the walls of his shopping centre into an anti-war protest.

In a tiny town eight hours north of Moscow, Dmitry Skurikhin has been painting the names of Ukrainian towns that have been attacked by the Russian army on the side of his building.

"For the first few weeks of the war our people didn't know what was happening," said Dmitry.

"They didn't know that Russia was shelling Ukrainian towns."

Despite risking prosecution and threats, Dmitry told the BBC's Russia editor Steve Rosenberg that he is unrepentant.

"I couldn't just sit doing nothing," he said, "it would have torn me apart inside."
