maintain pistols and rifles at a young age, but he emphasized safety above all else. That's what the NRA used to do. The macho culture of guns, and the militaristic and law enforcement culture that celebrates guns and violence is entirely foreign and obnoxious to me. We need rational regulations to slow down the gun purchase process and weed out anyone who has exhibited signs of instability. I believe insurance should be required, and guns safety requirements should include mandatory gun safes in the home. Assault-type weapons and large clips should be prohibited nationwide.
