Largest dam removal in US history set to begin in California - Al Jazeera

The largest dam removal operation in US history is due to begin in California.

It is part of a wider trend with almost 60 dams torn down in the past two decades.

Now, after decades of negotiation and bureaucratic delay, the Iron Gate Dam is going to be torn down. The process will take several years and will be the largest dam removal in US history. This latest operation is not just about the environment.
