I understand to some extent, but it sounded as though the Biden admin has been approaching Venezuela re: gas. If so, that obviously went nowhere and will go nowhere. Maduro is horrendous, but...

With regard to the politics of this decision, sadly I doubt the Cubans in Miami or the recent South and Central American immigrant community will appreciate this sufficiently to vote Dem in the midterms.
