(33,643 posts)It's very clear his co-conspirators were lobbying him for pardons after he'd lost, and led an attempt at a coup.
I'd add that it's almost certain Eastman didn't get a pardon cause he didn't have enough money to receive one from the Grifter-In-Chief ... and because his plan failed, even though he was one of the only people to actually proffer TFG a remotely viable 'plan' (to destroy our Democracy).
Fucking sickening that Trump is NOT IN FUCKING JAIL FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE for what he tried to do. And even MORE SO that there's a SINGLE CITIZEN that doesn't despise this man with every fiber of their being.
Fuck TFG, and FUCK his fucking brainwashed wingnut asshole followers.

(205,491 posts)Certainly Al Gore did, and Greg Palast made a valid case for John Kerry - in Ohio. And of course Hillary Clinton who actually got millions more votes! But Fox "News" is still looking for reasons to attack her! Now that fight would have brought the crazies to the Capitol much sooner!
I have every hope that these hearings result in enough charges and convictions to make a difference, but then we still have sitting Republicans in Congress who refuse to do the right thing and consistently vote en masse for anything that the Democrats support. And don't get me started on the cases made in both of the Impeachment Hearings...

And we have no idea who Trump "pocket-pardoned" (something uncommon before) because he did not go through the conventional channels of taking applications, having them reviewed by a pardon commission or aide, and getting a recommendation... and making them public on leaving office!
it's infuriating.

(205,491 posts)He defied precedent on every level - since he cared about nothing except getting his own way. Anyone disagreed with him, that meant "disloyalty," and they were effectively dismissed. And his "pardons" were a part of that, pardoning the clearly guilty was seen as a reward for loyalty - and that is something that also needs to be investigated. He even believed he could "pardon himself!"
