(3,401 posts)At the end of the day, what has he accomplished by going back? Zero!
He could have done much more away from Russia, he could have started a podcast, talk to the media constantly, keep a negative campaign on Putin and try to get those messages through to Russia, but now behind bars, with the prospect of getting killed, what has been accomplished, I ask again, and the same answer...Zero.
The same happened in Venezuela, one of the bigger voices against Chavez/Maduro allowed himself to be taken to jail, where he was most probably tortured and finally must have made some deal with the government, now he is back home but silent, nothing gained from that bad decision. People like these seem to think that martyrdom will change history, but it rarely does, most humans have short memories.
Putin doesn't care about international opinions about him, if he feels he must kill someone he will do it. The criminal mind works very different to the non-criminal mind, we have an example at home where trump agreed that Pence deserved to be hung, to them other people's lives only have a value as long as it serves them, after that they immediately loose any value to them.
