Ukraine braces for more attacks in Donetsk as it outlines a $750 billion plan to rebuild - DW News

Ukrainian officials now anticipate more attacks against the city of Slovyansk, as Russian forces move further west. Russia now occupies all of Luhansk, and about half of Donetsk - the two regions which make up the Donbas. But a defense advisor told DW Moscow is yet to establish its control of the area.

Kyiv is also making post-war reconstruction plans. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Lugano that the country needs $750 billion (€718 billion) for a three-stage recovery plan. He added that the Ukrainian government believes that a key source of funding for the recovery plan should be assets confiscated from Russian oligarchs.

All that is good but boy, how did Putin f*ck up so badly ? He's guaranteed the absolute worst outcome for his corrupt regime.

The problem was that the putz put 300 billion in over seas banks which was promptly frozen.
That would be a nice chunk of change to help with the rebuild. Also when the war ends Shell and Chevron will come back and be the lead companies in the rebuilding of the Ukraine oil industry.. Ukraine has huge amounts of oil and gas in eastern part of the country. The very reigion russia is fighting for. Lots of income there. I believe this war was all about the sale and distribution of oil to the free world. Russias economy is an oil economy.
Anything that would jeopardize this was a threat to russia. Kind of like Sadam trying to take Kuwait for it's oil.. YMMV
