I do not know if true that Hoyer said health care was not a human right, but I know lots of Dem leaders endorsed the anti-choice Dem in Texas

After @StenyHoyer
told my grandmother healthcare isnt a human right straight to her face in a town hall AND he endorsed an anti-choice Democrat in Texas, my Mom said shed never vote for him again. She chose @MeetMckayla
because civil rights are both our #1 priorities.

(21,360 posts)when Jack Murtha was running against Steny Hoyer to be House Majority Leader. Pelosi endorsed Jack Murtha, mainly because he was a former marine veteran who had changed the narrative on the Iraq war, he wanted our troops out. The House voted for Steny, the right wing MSM had gone after Murtha, the right wanted no part of him.
As it turns out they killed Murtha, nicked an artery during a routine gall bladder operation, we lost Murtha's anti-war voice.

(8,334 posts)Couple things, John Murta was basically Joe Manchin. Pro gun, pro life, pro defense spending, the list goes on. He was one of the very few democrats who could hold the seat he held though thus I would have voted for him if I lived in his district and went to volunteer for his last campaign against Russell when he looked like he could be in trouble.
That said, Steny was so far to the left of Mr Murtha you could hardly see him. Steny beat him by well over 50 votes and beat him among progressives, the CBC, Hispanics, the largest part of vote block that Murtha has were the close to 50 that voted against Speaker Pelosi ( the heath bar crowd) and the PA delegation.
Also, no artery was nicked, he died of a post surgical infection. It was very sad and unexpected. He went in for a gallbladder surgery.

I'm sure that Steny Hoyer knows that healthcare as a human right is in the Democratic Party platform. Why and in what context would Hoyer say what the tweeter claims he said, and how does such a tale find its way here?
Self-described socialist Collin J. Forster needs to do his homework.
