Russian President, Vladimir Putin, warned Moscow has barely started its campaign in Ukraine and dared the west to try to defeat it on the battlefield. 'Everyone should know that, by and large, we havent started anything yet in earnest,' Putin said during a speech to parliamentary leaders on Thursday, adding that the prospects for any negotiation would grow dimmer the longer the conflict dragged on. 'The further it goes, the harder it will be for them to negotiate with us,' he added. Referring to Ukraine's western allies, Putin said: 'We are hearing that they want to defeat us on the battlefield. What can I say, let them try.'

(5,177 posts)he's running out of high tech weaponry. His factories can't get sophisticated electronics for 'smart' weapons, and are having to fall back on old technology.
As more and more weapons systems reach Ukraine's forces from the NATO countries, his supply lines are being decimated and his logistics are SNAFU. I don't see his military capability lasting much longer.
He can still lob missiles into populated areas and attack civilians. The question is how much longer can he even keep that up?

Enough.

(981 posts)He has cancer and may not be rational while being treated with steroids. His ego is bruised and it is not beyond the realm of credibility that he would consider using a nuke on one of his supersonic missiles - which we would have no way of intercepting. You may also have noticed that the rhetoric from China is lock step with Putin. This could be the beginning of the end for humanity. Unfortunately he has the MRGA (make Russia Great Again) people behind him, and even if it's only 33% of the population, the rest of the people are too scared to protest. Truly scary and possible foretelling about what will happen in the US if we don't act very quickly at the polls during the mid terms.

(543 posts)I believe if they do use a nuke in a War of Choice they will ultimately destroy Russia (not necessarily through warfare) but through extreme sanctions. Who would want to do business with them out of fear of becoming sanctioned themselves?

(981 posts)Thy have a demonstrated lack of morals where money is concerned. Case in point: the call centers that operate there that defraud pensioners for Billion$ of dollars every year without any response from their own government to shut them down. Forgot to mention that they are also buying up as much Russian oil as they can right now

And he is threatening nukes if they don't.

He wants to meet the West on the battlefield? No, he doesn't. He'd get kicked to the moon and back, and he knows it. That's the only way I would see him resorting to nukes.
