even his college career. He's poorly educated and never required nor interested in learning. All one needs to do is go back to his first-year press interviews at UGA. Sports reporters never ask anything substantive but even his proforma comments on the game or the next were incomprehensible.
Nor is there evidence of a history of repeated head trauma. and concussions on the field. But even if there were, CTE is a post-mortem diagnosis.
I will not excuse Walker's horrific lack of fitness for public office-- just because he was a phenomenal running back. Even if he were not a staunch Trumper.
Edited to clarify no history of repeated head trauma and concussion. I fell out of a tree at the age of 8, but that didn't give me CTE and for those who so badly want to give Walker an excuse by seeking to find one report of a head hit can certainly do so, but it is not evidence of ANYTHING.

(25,471 posts)Pretty much everyone who has ever played football has experienced head trauma, especially at the collegiate and NFL level.
Also, he did experience a concussion in college. it took me 30 seconds with Google to find this:

He argued that long-term effects of concussions are exaggerated. Oh, the irony.
None of that excuses his behavior and he is utterly unfit to serve, but the assertion that there's no evidence of head trauma is false. The post-mortem CTE diagnosis rate in NFL players is nearly 100%.

(102,292 posts)with CTE, namely non-speed positions, especially linesmen. Running backs and wide receivers are the least affected statistically. Of course, that is statistical data that took me all but 30 seconds to find as well.

Go to the most extreme lengths to defend Waler all you wish. He isn't worth it and the defenses are NOT valid as the cited cause of ALL that affects him, but you be you. Yes, he was an outstanding running back and college football fans have reason to continue to admire him for that, but that does not wash away all his litany of issues that make him uniquely UNQUALIFIED for public office.

(25,471 posts)Based on studies, there's evidence that nearly everyone who played in the NFL has it. The ones still alive just don't know it yet.
it doesn't help that Walker already wasn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

"Like a shit-show on a train in the middle of a wreck." OMG.............
And I don't think I knew he actually said he was Valedictorian from his graduating class at the University of Georgia?!!? WTF?????:
Just unbelievable.
