Go After Trump: DOJ Vets Press Biden-Garland DOJ Over Slow Probe

As evidence mounts about Trump's direct role in the insurrection, legal experts and DOJ veterans say there is evidence AG Merrick Garland is "asleep at the wheel" in this probe. Other DOJ allies note the Department is running a sprawling case and has not shied away from assertive legal steps against Trump administration veterans when warranted, from Jeffrey Clark to Steve Bannon. MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber reports on the issue.

This is astonishing. The DOJ was "surprised" by Hutchinson's testimony, didn't even have her on their radar, and even now are only probing one small potential crime...of trying to replace electors...and haven't even looked at all the other crimes Congress has uncovered about wilful fomenting of a riot, and Trump knowing they had weapons. the organization, etc etc ..... Garland and the DOJ have more tools to dig deeper, but Congress is waaaaaaaay ahead of them in uncovering evidence and witnesses. But they have not followed that, and talked to any witnesses. Basically haven't done much of anything. Well they did put curbs on protesting the SCOTUS members pretty quick, so there's that.

Do we have to start a massive petition begging Garland to do his job? Can he be held in contempt for not doing his job? I am beyond frustrated. For those who say he's working hard, but it just takes time to gather evidence......Listen to these guests close to the DOJ. He's not. He's slow walking this, for what purpose I do not know. He has plenty of new evidence by Congress, for awhile now, to be calling in the same witnesses and doing his own investigation. Is this a continuation of the senior Democrats being afraid again? Like they were about the first impeachment when they had to be pressured by the base and rank and file months after the Mueller report, to do the right thing?
