GOP Candidate Doug Mastriano's Ties To Antisemitic Site And Its Founder - All In - MSNBC

Andrew Torba, C.E.O. of Gab, regularly spews vile, hateful ideas, suggesting that Jewish people are “evil” and that they should not be in positions of power. And he is being paid by the Republican Party's nominee for governor of Pennsylvania, Doug Mastriano. - Aired on 07/29/2022.

Anti-Semitism is something many can fall back on in a pinch. I just read an article here from a left site talking about a Jew "constantly stabbing Biden in the back". Ahhh...the ole "back-stabbing Jew. It is amazing that a group of people who pride themselves on being "sensitive" pull shit like this ALL the time! When it comes from the right, it really doesn't surprise me too much. Only a few times have I ever really been surprised, but when the "call is coming from inside the house," well, I am all that surprised, but it does really piss me off!

What was old is new or rather, it just never went away!

And while there's a clear backlash now against racial prejudice, you're right, anti Semitism never really went away. You'd have thought that WWII and the Holocaust would have put this to rest for good, but we're seeing a resurgence of neo-nazis in this country which is inexplicable to me, given the lessons of history, but history is not one of the strong suits among the right-wing, not to mention the reactions to Charlottesville and the "very good people on both sides" comment. In Mary Trump's book, she talks about the "hit and kill" bills, given that name by the ACLU, which are apparently legal now.

What I don't understand is why TFG would react this way since the only one of his children that he appears to care about - and her husband who he appears to value - are both Jewish. And, from Mary Trump's book, it also appears that there was no "religion" in that family to speak of. The eldest Trump daughter was very anxious when approaching her father before her first marriage since her prospective husband expected her to "convert" to Catholicism - but the father didn't appear to care in the least, basically just said "it's your life." Trump Senior had a lifelong hold over all his children though, like his son, only appeared to care about one.

It's inexplicable to me how we never seem to learn the lessons of history in this country - and throughout the world. I see it in Russia, which I visited with my grandmother and her peace group - and met with Russian peace groups who were terrified of ever experiencing another war. We need a return to Civics and history in the education in this country, but as long as we're under the influence of DeSantis and TFG, the return to bigotry and prejudice are inevitable.

It is true there is a backlash against racial prejudice, but that usually does not include anti-Semitism. That is a problem. A big one. I am currently listening to a book about the people placed in displacement camps after WWII, some for up to 3 years, and it is simply amazing that after what came to light, especially in regard to Jews and their treatment, there was still a massive amount of anti-Semitism from the so-called liberal democracies, especially the British, in particular the Labour party (some things never change). No one wanted Jews in their countries. They simply wanted to release them into the impoverished Germany and Austria, both countries still filled with Nazis and anti-Semites. Can you believe many Jews didn't see that as a viable option? Shocker, I know.

As for the POS that squatted in the White House for 4 years, he is of that brand of bigot that believes "there are good Jews, and there are kikes". Frankly, I see that attitude in all political camps, to this very day! Both sides use anti-Semitism to club their opponents, but neither want to address the issue within their own ranks, and if they do, it is milquetoast bullshit.

While history may not actually repeat, it does certainly echo. There are any number of "echoes", especially coming from the right, which auger some really bad shit down the pike. From the attack on women's autonomy over their bodies, to the "Don't Say Gay" bills, and the modernized "red-lining" of voter rights, the democracy in this country really does, IMO, hang in the balance.
