1. I can remember waking up with it when I was about three and a half

The pain was horrific. I didn't stop breathing, it affected my feet, ankles and legs. I wore orthopedic shoes until I rebelled at 14. My ankles have always had a nasty habit of just flopping over. I've broken both of them because of this.

Years after polio, often decades after polio, the pain and weakness reassert themselves. A lot of people my age are in electric wheel chairs because of post polio syndrome. I've avoided it because I'm damned stubborn and used to pain.

Don't play with this one, it's devastating. It's also diabolical, most people who get it will think it's only a bad flu, so they spread it along, which is why detecting it in waste treatment samples is so important. It is spreading in anti vax religious communities.

If for some reason you never got the vax in childhood and/or haven't gotten it as an adult, please get it.
