As in, Republicans see other Republicans getting away with breaking the law, so they push the limits still further. I think yes.

He likely would have remained as president. The worse TFG got, I did think of Nixon, and figured that the same thing needed to happen, his fellow Republicans needed to take him down. But instead, they're defending him today - when he stole and destroyed sensitive classified documents! Not to mention, we already know that he "colluded" with our foreign adversaries - "worse than Watergate" by far...
