(8,387 posts)The OP refers to "Americans" who visited Assange in the UK. Which of these Americans was licensed to practice law or medicine in the UK?
Secondly, the CIA can keep an eye on the activities of Americans abroad. Merely being a doctor or a lawyer does not change that fact. There is no allegation that any of the surveillance of their activities had anything to do with confidential attorney-client or medical information (which would be subject to whatever relevant UK law, not US law applying to medical information).
Yes, doctors and lawyers are people, just like anyone else, and it is certainly legal to watch what they do overseas.
And, finally, what your question is driving at makes zero sense. Information obtained from, for example, an attorney-client consultation cannot be used in a criminal prosecution. Do you have ANYTHING showing that it has? If not, there is absolutely no issue here, even if we weren't talking about activist "attorneys" along the lines of Rudy Giuliani "advising" Trump.

(302 posts)Julian Assange is the one who claimed the Russians had nothing to do with hacking Hillary's emails (the NSA says different) and Assange is the one who concocted the Seth Rich myth that Rich was murdered because Rich leaked Hillary's emails! Assange made it his business to insure that Hillary was not elected President after she vowed to have Assange arrested and imprisoned. He didn't care who was elected instead, even if it was the evil Donald Trump.
