Anyone tearing down these signs will have super-spicy shortening-glue on their fingers - which doesn't seem like much of a punishment until you realize that eventually they will rub their eyes or wipe their nose - or maybe even take a pee.
UPDATE 11/07/12:
Somebody tore the signs up last night after the election. I don't know who or if the hot sauce got them, but here's hoping.

I do the same with red pepper and Vaseline to keep the squirrels away from the bird feeders and it works like a charm. You should see them trying to wipe their noses and eyes! LOL They don't come back, that's for sure!

I was kinda hoping the fool(s) would get so excited that they would jump back in the truck and jerk off.
ER, for sure.

But I don't blame you either way. Tip o' the hat!

(3 posts)How can someone sue him? If it's on his property, the person would be damn lucky he doesn't have them prosecuted for trespassing.

(9,771 posts)hoping the sign vandals don't sue, because they deserve the heat and more.

(3,527 posts)In general, the use of deadly force is illegal. When it comes to non-lethal system (including chemical agents - which is what this would be), it varies from state to state and even locality to locality.
And while to trespasser could be prosecuted for trespassing, that wouldn't prevent them from suing or even pressing charges against the homeowner - depending on the local laws.

(2,154 posts)It comes in a spray can - Use a board to prevent overspray - I sprayed it on the frame of a Kerry sign, a couple of thick coats. Next day, the sign was gone, but I found it down the street, with the stuff wiped all over the face of the sign. Undercoating is tar and kerosene based, and it does not dry, and it is waterproof. You get it on your clothes or hands and it gets on everything you touch. Including the steering wheel, the seats, etc.

yesterday evening i saw a kid running from an empty house. caught my eye. went thru my yard. i followed thru the windows. saw him get my last obama sign. went outside and yelled at him to get his punk ass back over her. he ran up the street and jumped in a truck. a black truck. with a trailer on the back. i yelled, chicken shit.
today, the truck drove past me. i followed and got his license plate. anything happens to ANY of our signs, i am calling the cops and pressing charges. it is against the law to mess with the signs.
5 obama, 2 romney. all five of ours have been messed with. none from the party of family values and christian virtues.
oh, the truck had a romney sticker and nobama sticker.

The original Dave's Insanity Sauce premiered around 1993 and was one of the first sauces to be made directly from pure capsaicin extract, allowing it to be hotter than the hottest habanero-pepper sauces of the day. It was the only hot sauce ever banned from the National Fiery Foods Show for being too hot. [1] It has been rated at 180,000 Scoville units, compared with 2,500-5,000 for Tabasco sauce. Part of the intrigue behind the sauce name (Insanity) was founder Dave Hirschkops wearing of a straitjacket at events promoting his products.

(9 posts)Well good for you. I think it's a sign of "the lady doth protest too much" if people are going to such lengths as vandalism to show their venom for Obama...they're just scared because another four years is coming and they are going to get LEFT. BEHIND!!!

(7,280 posts)Just buy the peppers (A FEW POUNDS should do it) Pulse them in the food processor (you may want to wear a gas mask and do it outside) and smear that straight paste on the sign...don't give these F'ers the benefit of vinegar or other substances to cut the natural oils in teh peppers lol
With all that said -- excellent idea!

(6,002 posts)Their newest sauce is Ghost Pepper and I've been working on a small bottle for a couple of months.
In my first run in, I had some on my hand that was transferred to my unit when I took a leak...20+ minutes of major discomfort.
Another waltz with the Ghost was when I unknowingly got it on my Carmex lip balm and it lit me up when I applied it during a meeting the next day. A little goes a very, very long way!
