Meant it n dont get zapped. Hes dangerous w/ his words n some are ready to be recruited for the cause/cult.

(206,199 posts)Graham's previous closest friend was John McCain - and what TFG said about him during his campaign - 'I like people who weren't captured' - offended pretty much everybody. The family even made a point of emphasizing the TFG wasn't welcome at the senator's funeral. So why the turnabout by Graham?? He gravitates to the most powerful Republican in the room? With luck, it sure looks like TFG is soon going to lose his freedom as a private citizen, so why is Graham suddenly doubling down now??

(206,199 posts)Not only does the man have no loyalty - but he's completely gone round the bend. We've heard what Graham said initially, condemning TFG and everything he stood for. So what happened??

(47,482 posts)It is reasonable to assume he has something on Lindsey Graham.
And it also looks like he has something on Hawley as well.

(206,199 posts)We keep hearing Graham's vehement condemnation of TFG's candidacy early on - what happened??

(47,482 posts)Actually I think the particulars and specifics on Lindsey are an open secret in DC.
Rhiannon12866
(206,199 posts)We did hear that he had "dirt" on Macron, could he have similar material on Graham among those recovered papers? Could explain a lot, since even if his life in D.C. is an open secret, this could make a difference to his constituents.

I don't think the what of Lindsey is the issue, it is the who.
But yes Trump would want salacious sexual details on everyone.
For leverage, to show to other people, and to be sexually aroused.
He is a peeping tom with CIA documents.

(206,199 posts)And no wonder he tried to go to such lengths to blackmail Ukraine into finding anything on Joe Biden's son. He'd be excruciatingly tough to blackmail. What a creep!
And kind of the opposite of Jimmy Carter who took great pains to learn how every member of Congress stood on any bill that it was important for him to get passed.

Yes everything is transactional for Trump and he loves stirring up trouble. His employees report he always set them up to fight and hate each other. He did it just for for fun. So he is sadistically cruel. He likes watching others suffer.
While he stubbornly refuses to listen to most anyone, he was probably easy for Putin, Kim Jong Un and Saudi princes to manipulate. Trump is awed by important, wealthy, powerful people who can seduce him with wealth and flattery.

(206,199 posts)In Mary Trump's book, and she's a clinical psychologist, she said his issues are so numerous and complicated that it would be difficult just to diagnose him, as if he'd ever be willing. And you're right, he apparently enjoys doing damage - he has to have learned enough history to know who this country's allies and adversaries are. Why would he want to damage this country?? Apparently, because he can. And he's still at it, refuses to give up the spotlight. What has to happen is that he's no longer in the news or allowed to hold his "rallies." But he's been defeated in politics and no longer allowed to use popular social media, but he's still managed to find a way.

(47,482 posts)You don't always need a clinical interview to diagnose someone if you have adequate observation of real life functioning.
Which is actually the best way to make a diagnosis. Sitting in an office with someone is limiting when trying to conduct an assessment.
I am a retired clinical psychologist with a speciality in the diagnoses and assessment of personality and intellectual functioning of children and adults. The clinical interview, and an array of testing methods are just short cuts to figuring out what is going on with an individual. The best method would be close observation of an individual's functioning in the real world.
In terms of Trump we have a plethora of information, video tapes, speeches, reliable legal and personal history, constant verbal and written daily commentary, reliable reporting from friends, family, employees.
We have directly observed him under a wide variety of circumstances. So we have a great deal of data, and can see ourselves what his diagnoses are.
And they are fairly straightforward. Sociopath, narcissist, long time drug abuser (stimulants.) Learning disabilities as well.
Ok I would defer to Dr. Trump, she knows him best, because she is saying there are more diagnoses. But we already know the main ones.
Trump is cruel and sadistic and loves destroying things. And he will burn it all down to save himself. Nothing and none have any meaning for him. He is the only entity that matters. The rest of us are just props in his one man show.
Trump will never stop until he is made to stop or can no longer function in any capacity.
