Intercepted phone-calls from Russia: War-crimes, mindset and troop-disposition

These are two intercepted phone-calls from russian soldiers back to their wives.

In the first phone-call, the soldier admits to killing somebody he wasn't supposed to kill (most likely an ukrainian civilian) and says that he did a war-crime. He says that the russian army has stopped the investigation but that he will have to pay a fine when the war is over.
His wife says that he should fake an illness to get out of service. She has heard of several men who did that.

In the second phone-call, the soldier complains about the lack of equipment and how they would already have defeated the Ukrainians if only they had more heavy equipment, except it has all already been destroyed.
His wife uses some special insults to talk about Ukrainians.





The russian people are being flooded with war-propaganda. They have been brainwashed to hate Ukraine, to hate the West. In another intercepted phone-call, a grandmother refered to the Ukraine-war as WWIII. How the West wants to destroy Russia and how this is all the West's fault.

There is nothing you can do to convince them otherwise and the Russians will stay in their government-mandated fantasy-world until it all comes crashing down. Righteous hate feels so good.

I have heard Russians on european TV and social media complain it's unfair that ordinary Russians have to suffer the consequences of this war, like travel-restrictions and economic sanctions.
My opinion? "Boo-hoo."

You elected this russian government.
You keep supporting it.
You call the Ukrainians jackals and Nazis and whatnot.
You say that the ukrainian people must suffer and that they must be destroyed.
YOU bear at least partial responsibility for all of this, YOU do NOT get a free pass from the consequences of your government's actions.
