But the autocratic spiralling of the Russian military command and the constant claims by Ruscists that all of their retreats are really just to encircle the Ukrainian army do remind me of Hitler's antics in that movie

9. I do see your point. No matter how badly they're losing, their "leader" refuses to acknowledge it

And more troops are sent to die. And I did see "Downfall."

3. Putin is taking control because the paranoid bastard doesn't trust anyone, and he knows that

his ass in the sling if this goes South on him.

As far as the 300K new recruits, that is just 300K more mouths to feed, clothe and train. It will not improve his logistics or his leadership or his availability of modern weapons and transportation. It is going to be an additional burden as much as an asset. Perhaps Putin plans to use them as Stalin did, in mass attacks that killed troops by the thousands for little gain.

Join the Russian Army and die en masse for the glory of Putin and the oligarchs. Oh yea, and the Motherland. Drown Ukraine in a sea of Russian blood.

Russia didn’t have winter clothing for the troops when Putin started this. I don’t see this going well for them.

This is not a good sign of things to come.

Civilian leaders rarely are capable of conducting modern warfare.

If he uses it in Ukraine, the West cant and wont retaliate in kind.

Then depending on what China does, all hell economically could break loose.

14. I think Biden and CIA know that Putin is strongly considering nukes

Biden has made it clear there will be a US response to such action.
I think Biden means it.

My read is that Putin is on Biden's last nerve and Putin should understand what that means.

When you say all economic hell will break loose, do you mean in Russia?

And what do you think China will do?

16. Biden said his action would depend upon what Putin does specifically.

So we don't know what Biden will do.

At the very minimum Biden will sharply increase US military aid and assistance.
